We're live! | Thinair Week 4
Quality of life changes coming, first paying users, and how (not) to be a professional micromanager.
Hi guys, Sam again.
I’ll admit… I’m a hypocrite.
I made a LinkedIn post this morning about how “At thinair we give each other space and let eachother work in their own lanes”
Well…
I did the opposite for the sake of all of our collective sanity.
As you may know, we released our first version of Thinair last week.
(Reply to this email for an access code if you haven’t got yours!)
But, we’re already shipping new features again!
I sat down with Isaac, one of our founding engineers.
And literally breathed down his neck until we finished a laundry list of daily use features, performance updates and beautification UI stuff. (Sorry, Isaac)

But don’t worry, it’s a bunch of awesome stuff that makes Thinair far more useable and feel complete.
Most startups start as a hack and smash version of what they are destined to become
But we’ve been able to throw together a lot of great things in a short time frame.
This week Isaac and I added a text editing tool, some visual enhancements and updated our onboarding flow while Dan hashes out some back of house server improvements.

We’re also to announce a small shift in the way we do things, specifically in our customer targeting and pricing model.
Customer Targeting
We are now focused on seeking out the biggest Thinair fanatics, power users and alt tabbers on planet Earth and look to put them infront of a Thinair space.
No more casuals, no more building a thing for everything that’s for everybody.
Just straight up power users and super humans.
How Thinair Pricing Works
Most of you, if not all of you have an electricity/utilities bill.
When your lights are on, you pay.
When they’re off, you don’t.
Fair, right?
Thinair will operate the same way, with a metered pricing model based on browser hours.
For instance, open up as many tabs as you want and keep your workspace organized without worrying about usage limits!
Browsers automatically pause counting usage when:
Not actively being used
Outside your current view
Showing static content only pay for what you actively use.
Our Casual plan will include 500 browser hours, Our Standard will include 1,000 and our Advanced will include 2,000 browser hours.
For the average individual, this should give you a strong month of browser usage within your space.
If you want to add team members, you’re welcome to pool your browser hours or collectively upgrade your space to a higher plan.
We are addicted to pushing new features.
We’ve heard a ton of great feature requests from you all, and we have a laundry list piled sky high of things we plan on improving and adding.
Stay tuned for next week and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
